HBL PSL 8: Multan Sultans defeats Peshawar Zalmi by 56 runs

In the fifth match of PSL 8, Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultans defeated Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi by 56 runs.

Multan had given Peshawar a target of 211 runs to win, but Babar XI were bowled out for 154 runs in 18.5 overs.

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bowl first against Multan Sultans. Multan Sultans scored 210 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted overs. South African batsman Riley Russo played a smoky innings of 75 runs off 36 balls, Captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 66 runs off 42 balls. Peshawar’s Salman Irshad dismissed 2 players.

Chasing the target, the entire Peshawar team was bowled out for 154 runs in 18.5 overs. On behalf of Peshawar, Mohammad Haris scored 40 runs and Saeem Ayub scored 53 runs. Captain Babar Azam was out after scoring 9 runs. Ehsanullah and Osama Mir took 3, 3 wickets from Multan, Abbas Afridi took two wickets.

Riley Russo of Multan Sultans was adjudged the man of the match for his blazing innings of 75 runs off 36 balls.

Multan Sultans have played 3 matches in HBL PSL8 out of which they have won 2 and lost 1 while Peshawar Zalmi have won 1 out of 2 matches and lost 1 match.
