KARACHI: The lawyer of Dua Zehra’s father, Jibran Nasir, revealed that his client’s family was allegedly harassed by a YouTuber when he was not present at his home.

In a Twitter thread, Jibran Nasir said, “Horrified at the harassment of Mehdi Kazmi’s family today. A YouTuber who introduced himself as Faisal visited the home of Mehdi Kazmi today who wasn’t at home. In his absence, Kazmi’s younger sister answered the door but before opening inquired who it was and purpose of the visit.

He added, “YouTuber said he wanted to conduct an interview. Kazmi’s sister informed him that Mehdi sb isn’t available & if he has any queries he may speak to lawyers. YouTuber refused to leave & harassed the lady for full 15 mins repeatedly asking her to open the door and insisting on a video interview.”

“In the end, the lady herself came inside as the Youtuber was refusing to leave. We will take whatever legal action is necessary but morally and socially what have we as a society come to for a sake of few likes and shares or perhaps the money @YouTube makes people,” criticised Nasir.

“In this entire case so far the most irresponsible party has been @YouTube which has allowed all kinds of filth to be published regarding this case. YouTube doesn’t seem to care much about its own community guidelines to ensure the welfare of Child victims of heinous criminal offences,” said the lawyer.

Sources said that at least 12 to 13 YouTubers have arrived in Karachi after the arrival of Dua Zehra and Zaheer Ahmed in the metropolis who will mount pressure on the court and Zehra’s family in the ongoing trials against the main accused and his brother.

It was witnessed that a group of YouTubers was running an organised campaign to support the prime suspect, Zaheer Ahmed, in Dua Zehra’s abduction and child marriage cases.
