A visually impaired Pakistani student received a Chevening Scholarship through an undulated journey with the efforts of famous educationist Nadia Naviwala.

Nadia Naviwala took to her Twitter account and shared the interesting tale of Hasaan Tahir who she believes is an exceptional student and individual who fought against odds.

Nadia said that Hasaan was one of her students at National Defense University but he was blind.

He got an admission offer from King’s College London and was required to pass the International English Language Test (IELTS) conducted by British Council.

However, the case took an interesting turn when Hasaan appeared in the test and got handed over a paper in print rather than in Braille.

Nadia said the council gave the test in print despite knowing about the student’s disability.

The scholarship aspirant was told to return on August 7 but Chevening management wanted a firm admission offer by the university by July 15.

After learning about the unique case, Nadia Naviwala took up the matter and approached the relevant authorities for accommodation.

It was due to her efforts that Hasaan has now cleared IELTS last weekend and received Chevening Scholarship.
