IMF has released the announcement of the 9th economic review talks with Pakistan. The IMF mission chief confirmed significant progress in the policy-level talks.
The IMF has welcomed the commitment of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to implement the policies and said that these policies need to be implemented for macroeconomic stability.

According to the statement, the IMF Mission Chief has said that he is grateful to the Pakistani authorities for the constructive discussions. The IMF has prioritized permanent revenue measures and reduction of subsidies for financial stability.
The IMF says that measures were discussed to remove local and external imbalances, virtual negotiations with Pakistan will continue, and details will be finalized for the implementation of these policies.
IMF says that during the visit, there was a discussion on measures to get permanent revenue, there was also a discussion on the reduction of non-targeted subsidies, and there was also a discussion on helping the flood victims.
