IMF’s refusal to come to Pakistan until conditions are fulfilled
Date of IMF mission for the ninth review could not be fixed in virtual talks on yesterday.
Pakistan government fails to persuade IMF, first round of virtual talks to convince IMF ended inconclusively and more talks will be held on Wednesday, January 25.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the first round of virtual talks between Pakistan and the IMF has failed and the deadlock remains in the first round.
The date of the IMF mission for the ninth review could not be fixed in the virtual talks on January 24.

Negotiations between IMF and Finance Ministry officials will also be held on January 25.
The economic team’s virtual talks with the IMF are expected to be completed. The IMF seeks approval of the demands before finalizing the date of the mission.
Finance Ministry officials have assured to complete all the targets in today’s negotiations. The date of the IMF mission is likely to be finalized at the end of the talks.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif while addressing an event yesterday assured the IMF that we want to restore the program after completing the ninth review.
