Indian Conspiracy Fails, Pakistan Will Not Be Blacklisted

Pakistan will be placed on the FATF's gray list by February 2022, said FATF Markus Player.

The Indian lobby failed in the meeting of the Financial Action Task Force held in Paris, Indian conspiracy to blacklist Pakistan proved futile.

Markus Player, head of the Financial Action Task Force, said in no uncertain terms that Pakistan would not be blacklisted. “Pakistan’s performance is very good. The Financial Action Task Force has made great progress on 26 of its 27 targets,” he said.

“Pakistan will be placed on the FATF’s gray list by February 2022. Pakistan will have to take further steps to curb terrorist financing,” he said.

He said that the cases pending in the courts against the leaders and militants of the organizations banned by the United Nations would have to be dealt with immediately.

Responding to a question, President FATF said that Pakistan’s efforts to curb money laundering and terrorist financing were satisfactory, adding that Pakistan had fully implemented 26 of FATF’s 27 points.

After the three-day meeting, the FATF president said in a briefing that Pakistan was not being blacklisted, adding that Pakistan needed steps to curb terrorist financing under the Asia-Pacific Group’s action plan. Does not take dictation from India or any other country.

On the other hand, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, Pakistan has completed the implementation of four of the seven points of the Action Plan in 2021, while the implementation of the remaining three points will be completed within the stipulated time.
