Is PPP’s rebirth being witnessed in Punjab?
Political analysts say disillusioned voters with PTI government are returning to their roots, which is why PPP's vote bank is growing.

In the by-elections of NA-133 and PP-206, PML-N has won but in both the elections, the vote bank of PPP has increased. In the Lahore by-election, the PPP got more than 32,000 votes, while in the Khanewal by-election, the PPP emerged as the third largest party.
It seems that the voters of Pakistan People Party are waking up and the efforts of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are proving fruitful. The results of both the by-elections suggest that the PML-N voters are becoming disillusioned with their leadership.
In the 2018 general elections, PML-N got 45.02% of the votes, while in the by-elections of 2021, PML-N got 42.81 votes, which means that the votes of PML-N have decreased by more than 2% while PPP The party has got 5.79% votes in the 2018 general elections and 13.53% votes in the by-elections of 2021, which means that the vote bank of the PPP has increased by 8%.
Ahmed Bilal Mehboob, head of PLDAT, wrote in his analysis on Twitter that “PP-206, Khanewal-4 is the second consecutive by-election in Punjab where the number of PPP votes has increased, which will increase in 2018.” From 5.86 per cent to 13.53 per cent, the winning PMLN’s vote fell from 45 to 42.8 per cent, PTI’s vote fell from 41.9 to 30.58 per cent, while TLP’s vote increased from 5 to 8.64 per cent It’s done.

Political analysts say that although PML-N has won the by-election of PP-206 with a clear majority, the ruling party has also garnered more than 34,000 votes but PPP has surprised its opponents with 15,000 votes. It is disturbing for the PML-N that the party which failed miserably at the Punjab level in the 2018 general elections has started conducting polls.
Analysts further say that the people are no longer ready to buy the PTI thief. Apart from promises and claims, the PTI government has given nothing to the people except inflation. The PPP’s goal was not to win the election but to show that we have a significant number of votes in which we have been successful to some extent.
Some analysts say the slight decline in PML-N votes in the by-elections is clearly the reason for the low turnout. Similarly, the PTI voters who were originally PPP voters are now disappointed with the PTI and have returned to their roots. Given the current situation, it can be said that the real competition of PML-N in the next general elections will be with the Pakistan Peoples Party.
