Journalists Try to Spice DG-ISI Presence in NSC Meeting
The controversy brewed owing to a previous statement by ISPR regarding fresh transfers in Pakistan Army
The journalists seeking civilian supremacy painted the matter of appointment of new DG ISI in a manner that showed they aren’t familiar with the procedure of postings.
Prime Minister Imran Khan convened a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) on Friday which Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed also attended as the DG ISI.
The controversy brewed owing to a previous statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) regarding fresh transfers in Pakistan Army.
According to an ISPR statement issued on October 6, Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum replaced Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed as DG Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) while Hameed will take the command as the Peshawar Corps Commander.

Has the PM Office not yet signed the summary of new appointment of DG ISI…?
Has someone advised some delay….? of date?
Has someone advised some suitable date…?
Also to note, this time the particular announcement wasn’t made from PM Office (unlike 2019).

They started strengthening a prevalent impression in media reports that there is a rift between premier Imran Khan and COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa over the name of the new ISI chief which is why General Hameed is still the DG despite the announcement.
However, the defence experts said the journalists building the impression were probably unaware that an official gets to a new posting station in a minimum of four weeks.
On the other hand, the political analysts said if even the rift over the name is considered to be true, the journalists trying to make the matter controversial should have been happy as it showed civilian supremacy which they have always voiced for.
