Political analyst and ARY News Islamabad Bureau Chief Khawar Ghumman has exposed Finance Minister Miftah Ismail’s lie about his government residence at Ministers Enclave.

Five days ago, it was reported that Miftah Ismail had spent Rs4.8 million from the national treasury for the renovation of a bungalow at Ministers Enclave, according to ARY News.

However, Ismail had refuted the media reports about hefty expenditures worth Rs4.8 million on the renovation of his government residence and shifting from his private residence.

Miftah Ismail had said in a statement that he is still residing at his private residence in Islamabad’s F-7 area. The finance minister, however, admitted that he was allotted a residence at the Ministers’ Enclave but he is not willing to shift his residence there. He had also claimed that not a single penny was spent at his government residence.

In a Twitter message, Khawar Ghumman shared the list of the government residences allotted to the ministers which clearly mentioned Ismail’s name as he was allotted the bungalow previously being used by former interior minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah.

The journalist wrote that a government residence would only be allotted to a minister after a formal request by the said minister. He added that some of our journalist friends had expressed disappointment in the story but he is now seeking their opinions.
