KP Woman Delivers Seven Babies After Operation
Dr Hina said there was a risk that the uterus would rupture which could have endangered the life of the mother and children
After a complicated operation, a woman gave birth to seven babies at Jinnah international Teaching Hospital in Abbottabad in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The woman is 31-year-old and she was already a mother of two before the birth of seven babies while the couple hails from Battagram in KP.
Gynecologist Dr Hina performed the complex procedure and said that all babies and the mother are fine.
She said the ultrasound and other reports had suggested the mother was pregnant with five children and she was in her third trimester.
Dr Hina said she was startled after seeing the woman’s reports as her blood pressure was dangerously high with an extremely bloated stomach.
She said there was a risk that the uterus would rupture which could have endangered the life of the mother and her children.

Dr Hina added when the stomach was opened, the intestines, uterus, and urinary tract were connected.
Owing to the bloated stomach, it was difficult to reach the uterus, she added.
Dr Hina said she was overjoyed on incising all seven children alive which is rare.
The infants were transferred to the nursery while the mother was shifted to the ICU, she added.
