LHC issues non-bailable warrants for IG Islamabad over Elahi’s arrest

Lahore High Court issued non-bailable warrants for Islamabad’s inspector general after he failed to show up in court to submit a response about Pervaiz Elahi’s arrest.

A petition filed in the court says that a judicial magistrate had filed ordered the former prime minister’s release but he was still in custody. The petitioner asked the court to recover Elahi and set him free.

The court issued non-bailable warrants for the IG over failure to present Elahi in court. Bailable warrants were issued for Islamabad’s district commissioner and a contempt notice was issued to Islamabad’s SSP for failing to implement earlier bailable warrants for the IG.
