ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said that increase in the prices of petroleum products would make a difference to the ship owners and the general public would not be affected from the hike.

Miftah Ismail’s statement made nationals worried that they started flocking towards the fuel stations as they thought that they will be hit by another hike soon.

Addressing a business conference in Islamabad, Ismail said that further increase in prices of petroleum products could make a difference to the ship owners but the general community would not be affected much.

Ismail’s statement has also caused a stir on social media with users continuing to make harsh comments.

Leading journalist Omar Inam shared a video clip of Miftah Ismail’s statement on Twitter, saying, “Feel??”

Reacting to the video clip, Twitter user Riaz Niaz wrote that “the government is running a cartoon network.”

In a video clip shared on social media, it can be seen that Miftah Ismail is laughing while hinting at an increase in the prices of petroleum products.
