WEB DESK: Renowned anchorperson and lawyer, Naeem Bokhari has been recently appointed as Chairman Pakistan Television Corporation’s (PTV) Board for three years by the federal government.

Bokhari has been appointed as an independent director and chairperson of PTV in a notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Naeem Bokhari is not a new name for Pakistanis, he is the most versatile personality the local media industry can have.

Who Naeem Bokhari Is?

Bokhari, one of the most favorite anchorpersons, remained in limelight throughout his hosting career but for all good reasons.

He holds a charming and colorful personality which is arduous to ignore.

Personal Life

Naeem was born to Dr. Syed Altaf Hussain Bokhari in Lahore in 1948.

He is the younger brother of Pakistan’s fast bowler Saleem Altaf Bokhari who played from 1967 to 1978.

Bokhari married popular ghazal singer Tahira Syed in 1975 and the couple has two children.

The duo parted ways in 1990 and Naeem remarried Tamannah Khan in 1995.

Personality

Naeem Bokhari is a bright, and charismatic character, coming out as an adroit in whatever he chose to do, be it hosting or legal practice.

When he is a host, he is friendly and affable, he can turn serious talks into cheerful gossips in a matter of time.

Bukhari is always chatty and easy to go with.

Naeem hosted the political humor show “Khabarnaak” along with other talk shows including ‘Apne Andaz Se’, ‘Naeem Bukhari k Sath’, ‘Bila-Takaluf’, ‘Amazing Pakistan’; and the list goes on.

He has refined sensitivity towards the beauty of arts and nature.

Being an aesthete, he can be often seen recalling any ballad or peace of poetry in both Urdu and English.

Naeem stands out as one of the biggest fans of the poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, many times referring to Faiz’s poetry on his TV shows.

Once he was interviewing the late poetess Perveen Shakir in his show, he seemed extremely indulged and delighted during the chat.

Legal Practice

Naeem Bokhari remains in news for his legal practice also but more for his hilarious comments.

He is extremely amusing when comes to his statements on utmost serious occasions.

His statement regarding lawyers went viral a few years back when he replied to a question asked by a reporter,  it’s the client who losses a case, not the lawyer.

Naeem Bokhari recently made a statement after becoming Chairman PTV.

He said that the state television will only represent the government, adding that it was “not like any other channel”.

The statement came from Bokhari when he was interacting with reporters and he made headlines once again right after assuming the new position.
