With the onset of winter season, demand for dry fruits has increased.
We all eat dry fruits, but we do not know that whether these are produced in Pakistan or imported from other countries. Most of dry fruits are imported from neighbouring Afghanistan.
This year, the prices of pine nuts have recorded a big decrease. Last year, the price of one kilogram of the nut was Rs9,000, which has now decreased to Rs4000 per kilogram.

Dry fruit dealers said that the rate of pine nut has decreased as the export of the dry fruit halted.
Talking to News360, dry fruit dealer Gul Wali said that kaju is imported from India while pistachio from Vietnam. Dates are imported from Saudi Arabia while chocolate from Iran and Turkey. Most of the walnuts and almonds are imported from Afghanistan.
Nayab Dry Fruit shop is located in Peshawar’s Karkhano Market.
Shop owner Gul Wali claimed that his shop is the only store in Pakistan where all kinds of dry fruits are available.
He added that they also supply the pine nuts to other countries.
