My plan was approved and I decided to return to Pakistan, he told.

Dr Chaudhry said that he presented his working condition in black and white and handed them over to Dr Nadeem.

However, even after he returned to Pakistan, the agreement was not drafted and Dr Nadeem started using dilatory tactics.

“It was not just my insult but of a teacher and professional surgeon”, the sacked official regretted.

The official accused that Dr Nadeem was completely in control of the consultant Haider Awan.

“ED signs wherever the consultant places his finger”, he added.

I had committed to them that I would not perform any illegal or illicit task besides tolerating interference in work.Dr Chaudhry asserted that NICVD could become the biggest cardiac surgery hospital in the world. It will hold an international conference in 2022.

He claimed that the healthcare facility has to pay him outstanding salaries of three years.

He added that the fatality rate in the healthcare facility was 26% before his arrival which drastically went down.

Even the chief justice remarked that Karachi NICVD should be run under the federal government while remaining run by Sindh government, he expressed.

They did not even pay me salaries except which was fixed by the government.

The patients were deliberately killed to make the bed empty, he accused NICVD management.

The patients were declared do-not-resuscitate (DNR) without consultation.

After I took the charge, Dr Chaudhry told decision regarding DNR is now taken either by the patient’s family or the ethics committee.
