No-confidence motion: Govt allies in disarray for not getting ‘phone call’
Ally parties are still undecided to take a final decision on the no-confidence motion as they have not received the phone call so far.
ISLAMABAD: The ally political parties of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government are still lacking the confidence to take a final decision on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan as they have not received the magic phone call so far.
Despite having opposition proposals, the ally parties including Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q), Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) are still undecided over the no-confidence motion against the prime minister.
Sources told News360 that the government allies are hit by the state of confusion for not getting a magic phone call. Despite having many proposals from the opposition parties on the table, the ally parties are still deliberating on taking a side despite being visibly willing to accept the opposition offers.
D-Chowk to become political battleground before no-confidence motion
Sources said that the ally parties are very willing to join the opposition front, however, they are also thinking about the expected outcomes if they received the magic phone call after announcing their support to the opposition parties against the PTI government.
“Their only confusion is not getting hints to head to a certain front in the current political turmoil,” added sources. Sources added that PML-Q has clearly been given a message by the PTI government that it could not get the Punjab chief minister’s slot for having just five seats. “The government asked PML-Q to take own decision to go with the PML-N’s proposal of chief ministership if they can give them the slot.”.
Yesterday, PML-Q top leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi told a private news channel Hum News that all allies of the PTI government are inclined towards the opposition for the no-confidence motion against PM Khan.
The PML-Q, MQM-P and BAP have 17 seats in the National Assembly and support to the opposition will increase their numbers to 179, whereas, the PTI government’s numbers will fall from 179 to 162.
