Nora Fatehi Criticized For Copying “Shakira”

Leading actress of Indian film industry and dancer Nora Fatehi has been criticized by fans for copying Colombian singer Shakira in the song “Dance Meri Rani” from singer Guru Randhawa’s new album.

According to details, well-known Indian actress Nora Fatehi shared the song “Dance Meri Rani” from singer Guru Randhawa and singer Zara S. Khan’s new music album on social networking video and photos sharing app Instagram in which the actress sang. She wore Shakira-like hair and clothes while the dance she did in this song was also done in Shakira’s style.

The music for the song, which was released on December 21, has been composed by Tanshik Bagchi, while the lyrics have been penned by Rashmi Verag. In just three days after being shared by Nora Fatehi, more than five million users have watched this video and shared it from their accounts.

On video sharing platforms

As soon as the video was released, one of the viewers criticized it and said, “Hey, I copied Shakira’s hairstyle, at least I wouldn’t have copied the dress.” One user called Nora a copy of Shakira in Mumbai’s Palika Bazaar, while another commented on the song saying that it was a remix of Tony Kakkar and Shakira. Some users did not like the song but Nora Fatehi’s dance made them run away and also commented that Nora lost herself in this song.

Nora Fatehi, who started her career with Indian reality show Bigg Boss, has made a name for herself in the industry in a very short span of time. Has risen to prominence overnight and today Nora is one of the most popular dancers in Bollywood.
