Old man brutally murdered in Karachi, panic among the people

The body of a man who was brutally murdered has been recovered from the flat of a building on Abdullah Haroon Road in Saddar area of Karachi.
Sheikh Muhammad Sohail is suspected to have been killed by a 40-year-old woman who had been living with the victim for several years.

State Life Building No. 5 janitor saw a severed hand outside Sheikh Muhammad Sohail’s apartment in Elako House and reported it to other residents and police, said Sajjad Khan, SHO of Predi police station.
The SHO said police arrived at the apartment on the mezzanine floor of the building, where they found 65-year-old Sheikh Muhammad Sohail’s mutilated body lying on the floor. He said that Sheikh Sohail’s severed head and hands were found in a box in the room.
News of the violent killings spread panic in the building and neighborhood.
According to police, a woman identified as 40-year-old Rabab was sleeping in another room and when police woke her up, she appeared intoxicated.
Neighbors told police she was living with the victim and claimed she was his wife. The SHO said that according to witnesses, the couple used to quarrel with each other over domestic issues.
Police have taken the woman into custody and called the victim’s son Sheikh Shahid and other relatives. The body was shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center for completion of medical and legal procedures.
Police called the crime scene unit, which has obtained evidence.

Dr Samia Syed said that the relatives who came with the body claimed that the victim was a doctor and Rabab was a nurse in their clinic.
According to the SHO Predi police station, the relatives said that the victim was a father of eight children and the woman had been living with her father for the last six to seven years, however, the relationship between the two was not known.
The SHO said a girl was also living with the couple. The accused claims that she was the daughter of the victim.
According to News 360 police sources, the woman had stated in her initial statement that she was addicted to ice drugs and had done this to Sheikh Muhammad Sohail. But later the woman changed her mind.
Police told News 360 that the woman had also stated in her statement that the victim was her brother-in-law and that she had been living with him for some time while his wife was living apart. However, the woman later retracted her statement.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case of murder under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the detained woman Rabab alias Sonia alias Asma on the complaint of the victim’s son Sheikh Mohammad Shahid.
The complainant told police that he had been informed of the murder by people living in his father’s building. He said that when he reached the apartment, he saw his father’s body lying in a store-like room with his head and hands cut off.
