Packers Wins Wild One in Cincinnati

Lots of misses by both teams, but Green Bay prevailed

One of the wildest games of recent times, the Packers defeated the Bengals in extra time on Sunday 25-22 with a 49-yard field goal from Mason Crosby.

Crosby had previously missed three field goals: one with 2:12 remaining in the fourth quarter (from 36 yards), one in the final regulations (from 51) and one in overtime (from 40). they would have been the winners of the opening game. He also missed a PAT in the first half.

But he finally made it shortly after the two-minute extension warning, allowing the Packers to improve to 4-1. Cincinnati fell to 3-2.

Cincinnati also had two chances for a winning shot, but their kicker Evan McPherson failed at the end of the quarter. Fourth out of 57 yards to hit the vertical and also in overtime from 49 yards when the game came and went without anyone appearing to want to win. In all two teams combined for five missed field goals in the final 2:12 of the regulations plus overtime.

For the game, quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 27 of 39 for 344 yards with two TDs and one interception for a 102.9 pass rating.

WR Davante Adams had a monster game of 11 catches for 206 yards and a score, with RB AJ Dillon adding four catches for 49 yards and a TD.Running back Aaron Jones, who sprinted 57 yards before the first missed kick at the end of the fourth quarter, finished with 14 carries for 103 yards.

For the Bengals, QB Joe Burrow completed 26 of 38 for 281 yards with two TDs, two INTs and a passport rating of 85.5. WR Ja’Marr Chase had six catches for 159 yards and a long TD just before halftime, while RB Samaje Perine had 11 carries for 59 yards.

Green Bays interceptions were made by S Adrian Amos in the first half and LB De’Vondre Campbell at the start of extra time before a missed field goal.
