PM Should Walk the Talk on Blasphemy Statement

Senior journalists say stern action is needed against those who have brought Pakistan into disrepute globally.

Sri Lankan manager Pranitha Kumara, who won a gold medal in textile engineering, was brutally murdered in Sialkot, accusing him of blasphemy. This incident may prove to be a peacock of revolution against violent incidents for the Pakistani nation. Because it has been the history of the known world that a revolution requires only a moment.

Addressing a condolence ceremony for the Sri Lankan manager in Islamabad on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan vowed that he would not spare the oppressors in the name of mercy.

In his address, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the person whom Allah Almighty addressed as Rehmat-ul-Alamin, not Rehmat-ul-Muslimeen, did not come only as a mercy for Muslims. They came as a mercy for human beings. They brought humans together. First he gathered the tribes that fought among themselves. People think that they spread their message to the world with swords, but that is not the case. In ten years, only 1,400 people had died and religion had spread throughout Arabia. Because it was an intellectual revolution.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also vowed that as long as I live I will not allow incidents like Sialkot to happen again.

The Prime Minister has reiterated that now if anyone kills in the name of Rehmat-ul-Alamin or makes false accusations. I will not give it up.

Appreciating the speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan, senior Pakistani journalists have said that those who have brought Pakistan into disrepute under the guise of such incidents at the international level should be severely punished and the Prime Minister should abide by his statement.

Leading Pakistani journalist Mubashir Zaidi shared the speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan on the social networking site Twitter and wrote that “show what you have said.

Senior journalists say that our prayer is to stick to this. Because these things have happened before and have happened many times. And the government has made a formal agreement with the TLP. If we don’t stop these groups now, then how will the situation improve? Journalists say anyone who makes a false accusation and punishes someone without verification or investigation should really be punished.

Another senior journalist, Gharida Farooqi, wrote: “Whoever will make such a spectacle in the future, will use religion in the name of Rehmat-ul-Alamin. I announce today that we will not give it up.” When Prime Minister Imran Khan said this in his speech today, his heartfelt prayers came out on the pure intention of the Prime Minister. It is the duty of the entire state to fulfill this commitment.”
