After consulting Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a 150 percent increment for officers in grades 17 to 22. The new executive allowance will be applicable on the base salary of 2017 and will be effective from January 1, 2023.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while issuing a message on the social media website Twitter, wrote that “the government has decided to eliminate the unfair difference in the salaries of the officers of the federal secretariat.”

He further wrote that the “Government has decided to give 150% of the 2017 basic salary to the officers of the Federal Secretariat of Grade 17 to 22 who were deprived of Executive Allowance by the previous decision.”
