ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz-led (PML-N) coalition government has continued to play blame game after witnessing failures in all sectors especially found itself clueless to end the economic crisis.
The tall claims of PML-N and its 12 coalition partners have faced humiliating failures as the coalition government dropped the petrol bombs thrice in its 20 days of rulership and increased the electricity tariff nine times which gave extreme financial impacts to the nationals.
The government is calling the decisions inevitable and pointing out that the ongoing economic crisis hit the country following the unnecessary subsidy given in the last days of Imran Khan-led previous government. However, the past statements turned out to be another problem for the current rulers in which they asked former PM Imran Khan to leave the position.
After a massive hike in petroleum products prices, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail had claimed that today’s petrol price is $120 a barrel, whereas, the price of petrol in the UAE is more than $1 per litre and the price of diesel is even higher. In past, the same leaders censured ex-prime minister Imran Khan when he used to tell the nation the same thing.
Ismail brought new logic, saying that the agreement on difficult conditions was signed by the previous government with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) but the people are still wondering to get an answer about the reasons for not reviewing the wrong agreement by the current regime to bring the country out of the crisis.
The finance minister said on another occasion that when the coalition government came, Pakistan was the third-largest country in terms of inflation. This means that today Pakistan has become the first country in the world in terms of inflation after a massive hike in all commodities.
In the PTI government, when petrol was easily available at Rs 150 per litre, when the prices of food items including flour and sugar were under control but it was criticised by the then opposition leader and the present PM Shahbaz Sharif on Twitter that it was not enough and then PM Imran Khan should step down if he fails to control inflation. Pakistanis are still demanding the same from the current prime minister to give relief or go home.

PML-N spokesperson and currently the information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb was telling the nation in a tweet last year that Pakistan is currently the most expensive country in the region as the country is breaking records of rupee depreciation and petrol price. The situation is still the same but she is defending it now.

The finance minister has repeatedly said that Imran Khan violated the agreement with the IMF but it seems that the decisions of the coalition government that Imran Khan did not fulfil in his government will now be fulfilled by the government of PM Shehbaz Sharif.
The nationals are thinking that the current rulers have been brought in to fulfil the promises with the IMF. However, if this is not the case then the coalition government should have gone for revision of the agreement reached with the IMF. If Imran Khan’s agreements were wrong then why fulfil them.
The worst decisions of the coalition government have shaken not only the people but also their own allies. PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, while lashing out at his own government, is compelled to ask why the common man should pay the price for the failure of the political, military and judicial elite. This joke should end now. If the common man is being asked to back down, then the salaries of judges, generals and senior bureaucrats should be halved and all privileges should be withdrawn.

On the other hand, the skyrocketing inflation has forced the people trapped in poverty to commit suicide. Meanwhile, the daily wagers rickshaw drivers have started burning their rickshaws. They are asking where are the PDMs who came out last year to end the inflation during Mehengai Mukau March
