Islamabad Police arrest five, seize 30kg narcotics

Drugs recovered from suspects value about Rs210 million in international market

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested five members of an international drug gang and recovered 30 kg of narcotics in a major operation on Monday.

According to police, the operation was carried out by SHO Shalimar police station on the instructions of DSP Hakim Khan. They said the drugs recovered from the suspects value about Rs210 million in the international market.

DSP Hakim Khan said that the accused were selling the fine quality drugs in the posh areas.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation has been started. The accused have made several important revelations during the interrogation and it is hoped that further arrests will be made in connection with these revelations.

The arrested included Naveed, Shehzad, Adnan, Kaleem Haroon and Javed Hassan.

A vehicle, mobile phones and cash were also recovered from the accused. The suspects’ phones will be sent to a laboratory for forensics.
