As the democrat will swear in as the US president on January 20, he will break previous age-related records.
WEB DESK: After making the record for getting the highest number of votes in the history of the United States (US), President-elect Joe Biden will be the oldest US president to take the office.
Biden celebrated his 78th birthday on November 20. As he will swear in as the US president on January 20, he will break previous age-related records.
Before Joe Biden, US President Donald Trump aged 70 when he became the president.
Trump had broken the record of Ronald Reagan who was one year younger than Trump, 69, in 1981 for the first term of his presidency.
Donald Trump, only four years younger than Biden, had made issue of the republican’s age during the election campaign and called him with nickname ” Sleepy Joe”.
However, Trump was himself 23 years above the age for a US President, 55 years.

In an interview with CNN before winning, Biden had promised to be transparent about all facts of his health.

The youngest elected US president was John F Kennedy who was 43 at the time of taking office.
The youngest in American history to take over the presidency was Theodore Roosevelt at 42.
He assumed the presidency after the assassination of William McKinley in 1901.
