KARACHI: A new set of banners in the favour of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Founder Altaf Hussain has sprung up in Karachi whose pictures were shared by journalists including those who were found campaigning for the self-exiled politician’s return to national politics.

London-based journalist Azhar Javaid once again raised his voice in favour of MQM Founder Altaf Hussain and shared the photos of banners in Karachi. He said on Twitter that banners in the support of Hussain surfaced in Karachi and he hoped for the provision of the democratic right to the Muhajirs.

Javaid demanded to grant permission to Hussain for delivering speeches as a level playing field ahead of fair and free elections.

Senior journalist Faizullah Khan also shared photos of pro-Altaf Hussain banners.

Samaa TV reporter Irfanul Haque wrote on Twitter that ‘Namaloom Afraad’ once again activated in Karachi and put up banners in Karachi’s District Central the favour of Altaf Hussain to demand the lifting of the ban on him.

Analysts questioned the elements behind the entire campaign to bring Hussain back to national politics when the country is preparing to enter general elections.

Earlier, two London-based pro-government journalists, Azhar Javaid and Murtaza Ali Shah were found running a campaign for Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain’s return to national politics.

An organised campaign is witnessed on social media to raise calls for bringing back Altaf Hussain to the political picture of Pakistan. Several pro-government journalists had also tweeted and demanded the return of Altaf Hussain earlier.
