ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded to make public the cipher or diplomatic cable that had allegedly brought dramatic changes in national politics after the new audio leak of former prime minister Imran Khan.
Imran Khan-led PTI also demanded a high-powered inquiry into the cipher issue after the government launched severe criticism against the former prime minister for allegedly manipulating the diplomatic cable for his political gains.
In a video, Imran Khan was questioned by a journalist regarding his opinion about his leaked audio clip. The PTI chief neither confirmed nor denied the veracity of the audio conversation.
He said that the audio clip was leaked by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and he was happy about it. He expressed wishes that the cipher should also be leaked which will expose everything and a foreign conspiracy before the nation.

Khan further said that he has not played with the content of the cipher or diplomatic cable but he will do it in the future if the rivals expose it.
In an interview, PTI leader Shireen Mazari said that the developments have confirmed the reality of the cipher and attempt to hide its contents.

Fawad Chaudhry said in a statement that the audio leaks proved PTI’s narrative true besides confirming the veracity of the cipher. He added that the audio leak also exposed an attempt to hide the cipher, whereas, PTI is still demanding a probe.

He said that after the audio leak, it is inevitable to launch an inquiry into the cipher issue.
The new audio leak of Imran Khan has unfolded a new chapter of politics in which the former premier and the then principal secretary Azam Khan were discussing the diplomatic cable or cipher. Khan had allegedly directed Azam Khan to play with the cipher issue without mentioning the name of the United States (US).
However, despite censuring the PTI chief over his alleged plan for manipulating cipher issue, the coalition government led by PML-N and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) did not indicate any probe as yet.
