PTI leader Laila Parveen brutally tortured by lawyers in Malir Court

The victims' brother had filed a bounced cheque case against her ex-husband.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Laila Parveen was subjected to torture by her former husband and lawyers at the District Court Malir.

The police had registered a case against the former husband of the PTI laeder.

Senior journalist Asad Kharal has shared two videos in which lawyers can be seen torturing Laila Parveen and locking her in room on social media networking site Twitter.

In the second video, the PTI leader said that she had filed a case against lawyer Ali Husnain. When I reached the court, Ali Husnain had already gathered lawyers.

She said that her brother’s cheque got bounced and they went to the Malir Court to get justice. However, Husnain alongwith other lawyers subjected me to severe physical torture that I fainted, Laila Parveen said.

Twitter user Faryad Khan wrote on the social media that the brother of PTI leader Laila Parveen had filed a case against her former husband Advocate Husnain, who tortured them.

The social media users expressed strong anger on violence against woman and criticised the organisers of Asma Jahangir Conference.

 

Malir City Police had registered a case on charges of torturing Laila Parveen, his brother and hurling threats showing weapons.

Over six persons including the former husband of the PTI leader had been nominated in the case.

 

Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari’s daughter and lawyer Imaan Zainab Mazari wrote in his tweet that the lawyers whose professional responsibility is to present arguments in the courts according to the law and Constitution are torturing people in courts. Licences of such lawyers should be cancelled, she urged.
