Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has taken aim at the army and intelligence agencies in his speeches now. Analysts said it seems that Imran Khan is apparently setting a new narrative.
Today is the third day of PTI’s long march which is moving towards its destination in an organised manner.
The Haqeeqi Azadi March, which started from Liberty Chowk in Lahore on Friday, is still underway between Muridke and Kamoke.
Imran Khan and his fellow leaders are warming up their workers with their passionate speeches at various destinations.
The clear concern that is seen in the speeches of Imran Khan is that he is targeting the military and sensitive institutions in his speeches.
While targeting the DG ISI in his Friday speech, Imran Khan said that he has never heard any press conference from even Sheikh Rasheed which is full of politics. He said that he is silent for the sake of the country.
He said that the institutions have not remained neutral by holding a press conference. He questioned If the press conference was apolitical then why didn’t they talk about the gang of thieves sitting there?
In Shahdara on Saturday, Khan said why the DG ISI is not seeing those people, who have dissolved the corruption cases of Rs1,100 billion. He added that he should not be targeted solely if the press conference was apolitical.
Addressing the army chief, Khan said that he changed the sector in-charge of Karachi at the request of Bilawal Bhutto. Since the arrival of ‘these two’ (Major General Faisal and Sector Commander Brigadier Faheem) in Islamabad, oppression has been going on. Yes, you should remove ‘those two’, they are bringing you, the army and Pakistan into disrepute, you should investigate them.
While giving an interview with BBC, Imran Khan said that DG ISI told big lies and half-truths in his press conference in which many things were told out of context.
He said that he can respond to every query but it will bring the army into disrepute and he does not want the institution of our country to suffer.
Commenting on the press conference, senior analyst Dr Hasan Askari, “Sir, it was wrong to conduct a press conference.”
