Punjab govt decides to withdraw petition filed against release of Saad Rizvi
Home department releases 860 workers of banned TLP.
Following an agreement with the banned TLP, the Punjab home has decided to withdraw the petition filed in the court against the release of banned TLP chief Saad Rizvi. The provincial government has started the process of releasing workers of the proscribed group.
In this connection, the Punjab home department has released 860 activists of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
In light of the decisions taken during the yesterdays’ steering committee, the Punjab home department has started releasing workers involved in minor offenses.

Sources at the Punjab home department said that the government will withdraw the application filed in the court against the release of banned TLP chief Saad Rizvi.
On Monday, the first meeting of the steering committee chaired by Federal Minister Ali Muhammad Khan was held in which consultation was held on the agreement reached between the government and the banned outfit.
It should be noted that the agreement was reached two days ago between the federal government and the banned TLP to get the country out of the tense situation.
