Purana Pakistan: Two private residences declared PM House
Purana Pakistan has restored after Shehbaz Sharif's election as prime minister while two private residences were declared PM House.
ISLAMABAD: The Purana Pakistan has restored after the election of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif as the 23rd prime minister while two private residences were declared Prime Minister (PM) House.
Two private residences of newly-elected PM Shehbaz Sharif have been declared PM House including his Model Town residence and Tehmina Durrani’s residence in Defence Y Block in Lahore.
Yesterday, Shehbaz Sharif had taken oath as 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan at a ceremony at Presidency on Monday night. Acting President and Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani had administered the oath.
In his Twitter message, PM Sharif said, “I want to congratulate people of Pakistan on peaceful transition of power. It’s matter of pride that today all our institutions respect Constitution as guiding principle. If stock market & strengthening currency is any indication, the journey towards our goals has already started.”
“We also look forward to keep building relationships with other countries on the basis of mutual respect, equality & peace.”
“Our focus is on providing as much relief as possible to all Pakistanis by tackling high inflation & kick-starting the stagnant economy. Together we will make Pakistan a great nation, Insha’Allah. Pakistan Zindabad!!”

Lettergate scandal probe
PM Sharif had announced a parliamentary probe into the lettergate scandal in his first speech and claimed that he will resign and go home if they are found involved in any conspiracy.
He announced that the threat letter will be placed before the Parliamentary Committee on National Security in an in-camera briefing and the allegations of a foreign plot to oust Imran Khan will be probed.
Principal Secretary
The PML-N government is likely to appoint Syed Tauqeer Hussain Shah, a grade-21 officer, as the principal secretary of PM Sharif who is already facing corruption cases by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), whereas, Fawad Hassan Fawad was playing role in the appointments of the government officers.
Shah had earlier served as the principal secretary of Shehbaz Sharif when he was Punjab CM.
Shah was facing different corruption cases by NAB including financial misappropriation in Ring Road project.
