Raiders vs Chargers Monday Night Delayed Due to Thunder-Storm
The Monday night game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium was delayed due to weather.
The Chargers beat the Raiders by 28-14, but Las Vegas coach Jon Gruden said the delay didn’t affect the target. “It wasn’t like that, it had nothing to do with it,” Gruden told reporters.
Although the SoFi stadium has a translucent roof, there are openings in the upper deck through which a breeze can enter the stadium, and the league officials were careful with lightning in the area.
“No, I’m not an engineer, I have no idea. I’ve never heard that before. I thought it was a joke,” Gruden said of a weather delay in a hall. “But it affected both teams the Raiders and Chargers.”

SoFi Stadium is in its second year of operation and since Los Angeles rarely experiences bad weather, it was certainly the first in the facility’s young history.
Since we don’t have to do anything other than wait until kick-off, we can admit that, strangely enough, it is appropriate that the team called the Bolts delayed a primetime game with lightning. At Gruden, it’s definitely worth frowning.
“I’ve never had a stadium littered with a delay lightning bolt,” said Gruden. “This has been a strange night for all of us.”
