Rana Fawad Ready, Steady for PSL-5 Final Between Kings and Qalandars

WEB DESK: All things come to those who wait, a proverb emphasizing persistence to achieve a goal and fits on Lahore Qalandars Owner Rana Fawad too whose team has finally qualified for the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 5.

Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Super Kings have qualified for the final of the white ball tournament on November 17.

Although Karachi Kings has also made it to the final for the first time too, Qalandars have taken a great stride this season as they stood last in the previous four seasons of the tournament.

But still, witnessing moments of his team getting out of the tournament without even qualifying for the next round in PSL seasons prior to this one were thus disgruntling for Fawad but the bright smile on his face even after defeat bagged him many followers and won many hearts.

His involvement, commitment, optimism, and what not were all visible in the stadium while supporting Lahore Qalandars. However, in most of the matches, Fawad had to return disappointed as the results went against Qalandars. It would not be wrong to say that it is his optimism and resilience inculcated in all team players that Lahore Qalandars has made it to the final, a match away from grabbing the PSL-V trophy.

Rana’s reaction after winning the match against Multan Sultans was overwhelming for the fans of a true cricket lover.

The team owner had not come to spectate any of the matches of the fifth season but interestingly, his team will play the final now. Can it be seen as a jinx? We all hope not and wish him luck for the final with Karachi Kings.

He has recently flown to Karachi to be in the dugout with his team players for the tournament decider after dismissing all activities and pending tasks.

Further, Dean Jones, who had joined Karachi Kings as a Coach, passed away this year in September and Wasim Akram joined the team as interim coach.

The players and staff remember him on the historic occasion.

The late cricketer’s wife also wished Karachi Kings a victory and wished that she could be there in Pakistan, cheering up for the team if only coronavirus restrictions were not in place.
