Rana Sanaullah says ‘cannot run govt without support of institutions’

Rana Sanaullah said hurdles are being created to implement decisions of the government despite it is ready to complete constitutional term.

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that hurdles are being created to implement decisions of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government despite being ready to complete its constitutional term and economic revival.

Rana Sanaullah made the statement while being interviewed with Geo News program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’ yesterday.

Without naming the military establishment, Rana Sanaullah criticised that all stakeholders including the coalition partners and other institutions should have to play their roles to stabilise the country. He said that PML-N is ready to cope with all challenges but other sides should also play their roles.

“If all coalition partners are working together then the other side should also look into it. The other side should also sit with us to discuss these matters or this is only our responsibility to deal with them. We are ready to sit again for talks with the coalition partners.”

He clarified that the power matrix will be fully responsible for the severe consequences if it tries to paralyse the present government after imposing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan which brought division among the nationals.

Regarding Imran Khan, he said that the PTI chairman could not be controlled without the joint efforts of the coalition partners and the power matrix.

To a question regarding the latest rulings of the Supreme Court (SC) and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Rana Sanaullah said that the verdicts could have been written with good intentions but it will give a negative impact in the current political crisis.

He said that the ruling coalition parties could have to take a strong decision to stop the advancement of Imran Khan. The interior minister said that he could not wait and watch Imran Khan’s advancement to Islamabad in the name of the long march.

Sanaullah vowed that Khan’s advancement will be stopped in every street and neighbourhood and the coalition partners are near to taking a final decision. He criticised that they were unaware of being paralysed after being given power in the country after ousting the Imran Khan-led government.
