Rawalpindi, Islamabad highways reopened to traffic after 11 days
The federal govt had earlier sealed the twin cities with containers to prevent the long march of the banned TLP.
The citizens of Rawalpindi and Islamabad had heaved a sigh of relief as roads connecting the twin city had been opened for traffic after 11 days.
After negotiations with the banned TLP, the administration has removed containers from Faizabad interchange, while the process of removing the same from other places is underway.
To stop the long march and sit-in in Islamabad by the banned outfit, different highways leading to Rawalpindi and Islamabad were closed with containers.
After the new agreement between the government and the banned organization, the opening of the road has begun to restore normal life.
Faizabad interchange has been reopened after 11 days for all kinds of traffic by removing containers. Murree road was also opened from Marri Chowk to Faizabad interchange.

Traffic is running normally on all the connecting roads of Murree road. Limited traffic was also allowed on road leading to Red Zone by placing containers there. The process of removing containers from there has also been started.
Due to the closure of roads in Rawalpindi, the educational process was badly affected, but today all educational institutions, banks and business centers are open as usual.
In view of the protest of the organization, the metro bus service, which was earlier closed from the Saddar to Faizabad, had been reopened today.
