Recreational parks in Sukkur in a shambles

Recreational parks in Sukkur are in shambles due to negligence of the local administration.

The development work could not be completed in various parks including Lub Mehran. Due to poor arrangements and lack of facilities at the parks, citizens had stopped visiting these places.

According to the details, the recreational parks are wearing deserted look due to the negligence on the part of the district administration and elected public representatives in Sukkur, the third largest city of Sindh.

These places including Muhammad Bin Qasim, Lab Mehran and Latif Park lack availability of the basic facilities. Stray dogs are witnessed wandering everywhere in these amusement parks. Visitors complaint there is no cleanliness in the parks and also  long untrimmed grass gives untidy look. There is no proper arrangement of lights and potable water. Swings and boundary walls of these parks are in pathetic condition.

Visitors said that heaps of garbage can be seen littered in the parks.

Citizens have demanded of the authorities concerned to take effective measures to provide facilities to the visitors at the recreational places. They said that the revenue may be generated by the district government from these parks.
