ISLAMABAD: Some journalists including Gharidah Farooqi and Talat Hussain are expected to face legal action by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for running social media campaign and defamatory tweets against Shahbaz Gill following his arrest in a sedition case.
Some journalists have continued a social media campaign against PTI leader and Imran Khan’s Chief of Staff Dr Shahbaz Gill following his arrest in a sedition case.
Talat Hussain claimed in a Twitter message, “The Great GillSpill suggests a) he was directed by the party head to pursue this line of action/attack (whether specifically on this occasion or generally is not clear yet) and b) he was assured that the platform, the channel in this case, will not interrupt him.”
He claimed that Gill made some startling revelations before the investigators after being arrested in Islamabad.
In a Twitter message, Gharidah Farooqi claimed that Gill broke into tears while being arrested. She claimed that GIll was now seeking pardon and dissociated himself from his statement. She mocked him, saying that he lost his nerve within a few hours of arrest ‘but more time needed to update his software in phases’.
Faisal Chaudhry Advocate announced to file cases against the group of journalists who are commenting over Shahbaz Gill’s case being heard by the court. He said that the journalists were trying to influence Gill’s case through their tweets.

It is pertinent to mention here that Faisal Chaudhry was representing Shahbaz Gill in the sedition case after he delivered a statement on ARY News a few days ago.
The lawyer announced that the journalists, without naming anyone of them, will be brought to the court by him.
