Law passed amid Opposition's sloganeering in Sindh Assembly
The Local (Local Government) Act with new amendments was passed by an overwhelming majority in the Sindh Assembly. All the noise of the opposition was useless.
According to details, the government has passed the Local Government Amendment Act on the basis of majority in the Sindh Assembly. Opposition members protest during the passage of the Local Government Act.

The Sindh Assembly session was chaired by Speaker National Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani. Local Govt Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the Local Government Act has been amended after consultation with all the allies.
He said that Solid Waste Management was first subordinated to the Chief Minister of Sindh but later this institution was subordinated to the Minister for Local Govt. However, now after the amendment, this institution will be given to the Mayor of Karachi.
According to the new amendment, new councilors will be selected from the show of hands. The Sindh government has withdrawn the condition of secret ballot. And the opposition also demanded that it be abolished. It has been decided to maintain the town system. Towns will be set up in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
Opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh said that this is a black law.
