Suicide attack in Police Lines mosque, second biggest security failure after APS
Defense analysts have expressed grave concern over the suicide attack in Police Lines Peshawar, calling it a major security failure.
After the suicide attack in police lines mosque in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the number of people killed has increased to 88 while more than 170 are injured.
It is the biggest operation of terrorists, however, they have raised questions about the overall security situation after the suicide bomber reached inside the mosque premises.
Yesterday, the number of people killed in the suicide blast in the mosque of Police Lines Peshawar has increased to 88 while more than 170 are injured. Health officials said that the condition of many of the injured is critical, due to which the death toll is expected to rise.

Located in the heart of Police Lines, the mosque is surrounded by highly sensitive buildings, including the headquarters of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the office of the Deputy Inspector General (Telecommunications).
According to CCPO Peshawar Mohammad Ejaz Khan, about 300 to 400 people from different offices were gathered in the mosque to offer Zuhr prayer when the suicide bomber blew himself up.
On the other hand, defense analysts have expressed serious concerns about the suicide bomber reaching the Red Zone. They say that anyone, even a policeman, has to pass through three security check posts to enter the mosque.
Analysts say that this is the second deadliest incident after the Army Public School attack. He says that after clearing three security check posts, anyone can reach CTD and elite force offices and this mosque is located behind these offices. Now the thing to think about is how big a security lapse it is that the terrorist went ahead crossing them.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of the 27 policemen who were martyred in the attack were performed at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Corps Commander Peshawar, Ministers, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Commandant of Frontier Constabulary, Inspector General of Frontier Corps, Inspector General of Police, senior military and civil officials and people from different walks of life participated in the funeral prayer.
