‘TLP will be over sooner’ tweets Fawad Chaudhry ignoring PM Imran directives

Experts are seeing the info minister's remarks an attempt to sabotage agreement with TLP brokered by Mufti Muneebur Rehman.

Prime minister is supposed to be a captain of a cabinet of any democratic government. But, during this government, it seems the captain has failed to control his teammates, bringing sheer embarrassment for him. Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has on several occasions bypassed the directives of the Prime Minister Imran Khan especially when it comes criticising the religious elements and scholars.

The latest example is Fawad Chaudhry’s tweet in which he again targeted religious groups including the banned TLP, ignoring the prime minister’s recent directives made during the core committee meeting. Imran had instructed all his ministers not talk on the TLP issue.

Today, the information minister took to Twitter and said: “Religious extremist groups have the capacity to use mob for violence but their capacity to stir politics has always been limited.”

He further said that at one point Sunni Tehreek was more violent than TLP but done and dusted this party will over sooner and alliance with such party means international isolation.

His remarks that “the TLP will be over sooner” may have serious impact on recently made agreement between the government and the banned outfit.

Political experts are seeing the Fawad’s statement as an attempt to sabotage the agreement brokered by religious scholars led by Mufti Muneebur Rehman, an old rival of the information minister.
