Unelected Attaullah Tarar given bulletproof VIP vehicle by govt
PML-N's leader and SAPM Attaullah Tarar turned out to be enjoying the full perks of ministers despite being an unelected individual.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Deputy Secretary General and SAPM on Narcotics Control Attaullah Tarar turned out to be enjoying the full perks of ministers despite being an unelected individual as he was also given a bulletproof VIP vehicle by the incumbent government.
A list provided to the Senate showed that Attaullah Tarar was also having a 2016 model bulletproof VIP vehicle by the federal government despite being an unelected politician. He was list among the top office-bearers who are having the bulletproof vehicles allocated by the federal government.
The list includes names of National Assembly (NA) Speaker, Senate chairman, SC’s Justice Syed Mazahir Ali Naqvi, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Shahid Khaqan Abbasi – former PM, Imran Khan – former PM, Zahid Akram Durrani – NA deputy speaker, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf – former PM, Asad Mehmood – federal minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari – foreign minister, Rana Sanaullah – interior minister, Noor Alam Khan – PAC chairman and interior ministry’s secretary.
Despite a severe economic crisis, the incumbent government continued the royal expenditures on a large number of cabinet members and ministers.
Analysts questioned how the government will justify its austerity claims when it is awarding perks to its blue-eyed politicians at the expense of public money. They said that the concerned authorities should question the allocation of a bulletproof vehicle to Tarar without being an elected representative.
