US pushes for Saudi recognition of Israel amid regional tensions

Despite the recent pager explosions in Lebanon and the escalating aggression from Israel in Gaza, the US is actively working to facilitate the recognition of Israel by Saudi Arabia.

The spokesperson for the US State Department, Matthew Miller, stated that they desire to establish relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, emphasizing that an agreement between the two nations would benefit both states.

He acknowledged the challenges facing Saudi Arabia, including the two-state solution, and noted that as time passes, meeting the conditions for relations with Israel is becoming increasingly difficult The US is striving to achieve goals such as a ceasefire in Gaza.

Additionally, a Pentagon spokesperson clarified that there has been no change in US military positions in the Middle East, and efforts to reduce tensions in the region are ongoing.

Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, Sabrina Singh, mentioned that the US does not want conflicts to escalate in Lebanon following the pager explosions, and there is still a possibility for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
