‘Veiled’ IBA Sukkur Students Hurl Harassment Accusations

University's VC said such allegations were an attempt to tarnish the reputation of a prestigious educational institution in the country

Two veiled girls, who identified themselves as IBA Sukkur students, alleged varsity’s management of harassment in a video clip which is making rounds on the internet since yesterday.

The female students, whose faces were covered up, said the managment was involved in forcing girls to establish illicit relationships for academic advantages.

The university’s VC has although refuted all allegations and said he was not even sure whether both veiled girls were enrolled in the university.

In the video clip, the students held a placard reading ‘save university from political mafia’.

They said the reason for hiding their faces was to conceal their identities as to avert possible consequences.

The IBA students claimed that the female pupils enrolled in the institution were not safe.

They claimed that the female hostels have been occupied by male educators who harass women while they have the back of female wardens including Zoya and Maryam.

The pupils claimed that the students who refuse to befriend male teachers were deliberately failed in examinations.

They added that the new IBA Sukkur vice-chancellor (VC) has appointed dishonest people as head of departments (HODs).

Meanwhile, IBA Sukkur VC Dr Mir Muhammad Shah has refuted the allegations and said that they were baseless, adding that the probe into the claims of harassment by female students has been launched.


VC said that there was no clue about the identity of the students who had leveled harassment charges.

“I don’t know even if they are the students of IBA Sukkur”, Dr Mir said.

He added that such allegations were an attempt to tarnish the reputation of a prestigious educational institution in the country.
