Rumors in the political sphere about sudden departure of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah hover as clarification is delayed

The rumors about the abrupt visit of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to the United States (US) are looming over with the government not clarifying the reason behind the sudden visit.

Sindh Chief Minister left for the US on December 11 without specifying the reason behind the visit.

Different rumors about Murad Ali Shah are circulating among the journalistic and political communities which are sketching different reasons behind Murad Ali Shah’s foreign trip amid the coronavirus pandemic.

News360 contacted Sindh Chief Minister House several times but failed to retrieve any information in this regard.

However, the officials of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) confirmed that Murad Ali Shah is visiting the US due to some personal engagements.

Sindh Government Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab told that the chief minister would return before December 24 and chair the meeting of the provincial cabinet.

He added that Murad Ali Shah is on a 10-day personal visit to the US.

Wahab rejected speculations that the PPP leadership was unaware of the Murad Ali Shah’s trip. He said that the party’s leadership knew about the chief minister’s foreign visit.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) criticized the sudden departure of the chief minister during the coronavirus pandemic.

It is notable that Murad Ali Shah had recently recovered from coronavirus after he was tested positive while he has also submitted his resignation with the PPP leadership in line with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) decision to oust the PTI government.
