Why absconding Suleman Shahbaz Sharif attended banquet hosted by President Erdogan?

Suleman Shahbaz, PM Shehbaz Sharif, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey visit

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has returned to Pakistan after concluding his three-day official visit to Turkey, however, a shameful revelation was made regarding his foreign visit.

PM Shahbaz Sharif had reached Turkey along with a 54-member delegation, however, it was learnt via a Twitter post of his absconding son, Suleman Shahbaz Sharif, that he – the proclaimed offender in the money laundering case declared by an accountability court of Lahore – was also present in the meeting between the premier and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Suleman wrote on Twitter, “What a spectacular evening hosted by the honourable President @RTErdogan. It is always a pleasure to meet him and the first Lady. They always fill your heart with so much love and warmth. Thank you won’t be enough @CMShehbaz @SulemanSharif82”

It was learnt that the absconding son of the premier was not only included in the government delegation which reached Turkey. Suleman Shahbaz Sharif and his wife attended Erdogan’s reception and had a meal at the same table with the top leaders of both countries.

They said that the premier had visited Turkey at state expenses and it was a joke with the Constitution, law, judiciary and a common Pakistani to include his absconding son in the government delegation.

They also criticised that a common man used to face jail but a declared proclaimed offender son of PM Sharif is having a meeting with the host country’s head.

Netizens expressed outrage over the development after Suleman posted the photos with Erdogan. Here are some tweets:

A Twitter user Talat Rahim wrote, “Two days ago, the FIA told a court summons couldn’t be submitted to Suleman Shahbaz since his whereabouts couldn’t be found. Only he was seated at dinner with Erdogan coming from his runaway abode in London. His kids also had fun with alleged money laundering grandad PM Shehbaz.”
