Why Ansar Abbasi Generates Controversy Over Every Non-Issue?

The senior journalist associated with the Jang group should emphasize the owner Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman to take down the advertisement from the outlet

Senior journalist Ansar Abbasi is in hot water again as he generated a controversy yet again after finding obscenity in another television commercial like he had been in the past too.

The plea of Ansar Abbasi to Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of an advertisement of Mirth which tends to be a product to enhance male sexuality.

Ansar Abbasi objected to the commercial and said that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), the regulating body of print and electronic media, was asleep as it allowed such ads to run on the media.

However, being the Editor News Investigation of The News owned by Jang Group that runs Geo channel, he should take the initiative and emphasize the owner Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman to take down the advertisement from the outlet.

Another considerable fact for the senior journalist should be that advertisement is something that companies need to do to market their products and target consumers.

A number of medical and other products are available in the market which caters to the needs of different people depending on their requirements.

Some are advertised and some are not.

But, some, like Ansar Abbasi, who is known for ‘nitpicking’ shows and commercials for ‘obscenity’ they demonstrate, do not like them to be advertised as he finds such ads on Pakistani media cause ‘moral harm’.

On many previous occasions, he had been heavily criticized for sexualizing women irrelevantly, let alone engaging in pedantic fault finding on what is shown on local TV channels.

This time too, the Twitter users did not spare Ansar Abbasi for raising an issue that is not even considered one by many people unlike those with the same mindset and and stirring a controversy.

Some probably drew his attention to other forms of obscenity.
