WEB DESK: The enthusiasm of political workers with their affiliated parties sometimes require a push to trigger an adrenaline rush among them. The parties’ stalwarts develop an affinity with them and listen to their beats for impetus. One such anthem has been ‘Dilan Teer Bija’ of Pakistan’s Peoples Party (PPP), which was released during the 1988 elections and became an instant hit.
Later in 1993 elections the song remained an integral part of the campaign, since then it has become PPP anthem and a bond between party and its millions of supporters.
Zahoor Khan Zeibi, a stalwart of PPP’s project Dilan teer Bija was recorded in a music studio at Liyari in collaboration with Noni productions.
The song was sung by Shabana Noshi.
Based on a funky and heavy-beat rendition of Baloch folk music, it set a trend of political songs.
The trend was followed by other political parties during election campaigns as well as during public rallies and other events.
After Dilan Teer Bija, over a dozen songs were recorded by PPP and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and many others to synergize their workers.
However, it remained the most popular song.
