ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Ali, Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other political leaders have congratulate cricket team on their historic win against India in an important T20 World Cup match in Dubai.

Despite his presence in Saudi Arabia, the prime minister along with his cabinet members watched the Pakistan—India match.

He congratulated the nation on the victory of Pakistan. Pictures of the prime minister and the cabinet members watching the match have gone viral on the social media.

Taking to twitter, Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote: “Congratulations to the Pakistani team, especially Babar Azam, who bravely led the team and Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi, who performed brilliantly. The nation is proud of you all. ”

On the same social media site, congratulating the team on the excellent performance, President Arif Alvi said:”Well done Green Shirts.”

Expressing his enthusiasm, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said: “What a match, there was no match between the two teams. Congratulations to all the players of Pakistan, well done green team.”

Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa while congratulating on the victory said that the Pakistan team has raised our heads with pride by defeating India.

On the victory of the national cricket team against India, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz wrote on social networking site Twitter: “Well done Pakistan.”

Reacting to the historic win against India, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while sharing the message on social media, wrote: ”Pakistan team achieved a complete victory.  Brilliant!.”

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter to write: “congratulate cricket team.”

 

“Congratulations to the Pakistani cricket team and the people,” Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed wrote in a Twitter message on the national team’s victory.
