Legal battle between Zoheb Hassan, Ishtiaq Baig enters new phase
SHC has directed to club the petitions of Mirza Ishtiaq Baig and Zoheb Hassan for its hearing by the same bench
KARACHI: The legal battle between the late pop singer Nazia Hassan’s brother and Mirza Ishtiaq Baig has entered a new phase as Zoheb Hassan also filed a lawsuit.
Following the lawsuits, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed to club the petitions of Mirza Ishtiaq Baig and Zoheb Hassan for its hearing by the same bench.

Moreover, the SHC stopped Mirza Ishtiaq Baig from giving media statements against Zoheb Hassan and his family.
On December 7, the high court had dismissed Baig’s petition seeking revocation of the divorce certificate issued to his late wife Nazia Hasan by the Keamari’s secretary union council in March 2008, eight years after her death.
Talking to a local news channel on August 13, Zoheb Hassan had alleged that Nazia Hassan believed that she was poisoned by her husband Ishtiaq Baig and an attested testimony provided by her ailing sister clearly reads that she wanted a separation from her husband on the grounds of ill-treatment.
Ishtiaq Baig had rubbished Zoheb Hassan’s allegations and sent Rs1 billion damage claim notice.
Nazia Hassan passed away in August 2000 at the age of 35, presumably from lung cancer.
