In a surprisingly clandestine move, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been re-elected as Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman for another four years, and that too unopposed.
The third-largest party of Pakistan organized intra-party elections on the federal level on Wednesday in Karachi without any media-hype and all office-bearers were elected unopposed.
The election commissioner Ms Fauzia Habib announced the results of the intra-party elections.
As per the details released by PPP on its website. The elected members and their designations are:
- Secretary-General, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari
- Secretary-Information, Faisal Karim Kundi
- Secretary-Finance, Ms. Rukhsana Bungash
The elections have raised questions as to why they were not projected in media like other activities of the party and carried out secretly in which Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been re-elected as PPP chairman.
PPP officials are refuting such claims and termed that the polls were an internal matter of the party.
