Chinese government records state the first case of novel coronavirus was reported on the date.
However, doctors in China were unaware of pneumonia of unknown etiology.
The Chinese government did not officially identify a positive case until December 8, 2019.
It is considered such patients suffering from pneumonia.

Chinese medics later realized they were dealing with something novel.
However, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the official announcement of the first case in China was made on December 8.
WHO’s China office was informed of pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan City in December.
The cases rose to 44 until January 3, 2020, with 11 in critical condition.
New research found Covid-19 antibodies in blood samples from as early as September last year.
However, the claim is disputed yet.
